A huge thank you to all of our sponsors. Without their support, this camp wouldn’t have been possible. Thanks to the confidence many companies and organizations had in the camp, we were able to raise over $26,000! Some of our platinum sponsors include Finance of America, The Hillis Group, Eckert Seamans, Merchants Bank, and especially St. Lukes Hospital for covering the cost of T-shirts and water bottles as well as providing athletic trainers for the campers.
Great job by our coaching staff for our first year! We had terrific coaches from local colleges as well as elite basketball camps. Some of our fantastic coaches include John Venus, Brandon Lister, Shahad Abdurrahkman, and Darnell Braswell. Without these guys, we wouldn’t have seen the skill development some of the kids had by the end of the camp!
A huge thank you to Ed Jennings, head coach of Go Pro Skills Camp. He not only helped organize the camp but also helped to run it. He also helped us select others on our coaching team. Without his help, the camp would not have been successful.
Former assistant coach of Georgetown University and current head coach of Springbrook High School, Silver Spring, Maryland, Coach Darnell Myers spoke to the kids about continuing to have the “hunger” some of them have and to use that, not just in basketball, but also in school.
Gary Laubach, author and sports announcer for RCN cable news in the Lehigh Valley, and Mayor of Allentown, Ed Pawlowski, stopped by the camp to say a few words and help inspire the kids with lots of personal anecdotes.
Harry Morra, a coach for DeSales University’s basketball team in Center Valley, PA helped motivate the campers as well as providing them with a fun shooting competition game!
